(exechange) — Zurich, Switzerland, March 19, 2024 — Ron Delia, chief executive of Amcor, leaves his position. As announced by Amcor Plc in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, Ron Delia leaves his post as chief executive officer at the packaging company, after nine years in the role, effective April 15, 2024.

Amcor will undertake a search for a successor.

Ron Delia’s duties as CEO will be taken over temporarily by Peter Konieczny, currently Chief Commercial Officer at Amcor Plc, as Interim Chief Executive Officer.

Health reasons

The management change is explained as follows. Amcor stated: “Ron Delia has informed the Board of Directors of his decision to retire from the Company and step down from the Board for health reasons, effective April 15, 2024.”

“Retire”

Amcor further said: “On March 16, 2024, Ronald Delia notified Amcor plc (the “Company”) of his intention to retire as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors (the “Board”) for health reasons.”

“Not as a result of any disagreements”

Amcor stated, regarding the change: “Mr. Delia’s retirement is not as a result of any disagreements with the Company.”

Share price decline since March 2021

The announcement follows a decline in Amcor Plc’s share price of 17% since March 2021.
