(exechange) — Madison, Wisconsin, October 26, 2023 — John Larsen, chief executive of Alliant, leaves his position. As announced by Alliant Energy Corp. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Thursday, October 26, 2023, John O. Larsen leaves his post as chief executive officer at the utility holding company providing power in Iowa and Wisconsin, after about four and a half years in the role, effective January 1, 2024.

John Larsen’s duties as CEO will be taken over by Lisa M. Barton, currently President and Chief Operating Officer at Alliant Energy Corp.

In the announcement, Alliant did not explicitly explain the reason for the move.

Alliant stated: “Alliant Energy (NASDAQ: LNT) announced today that its board of directors elected John Larsen, current board chair and CEO, to the position of executive chairman, effective January 1, 2024.”

Share price increase since July 2019

The announcement follows an increase in Alliant Energy Corp.’s share price of 1% since July 2019. July 2019 is the month in which Larsen’s tenure as CEO began.

From July 2019 to February 2023, he served as Board Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alliant Energy.

He is also currently Board Chair of IPL and WPL, and served as Chief Executive Officer of IPL and WPL from January 2019 to February 2023.

Larsen previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Alliant Energy since January 2019, President of Alliant Energy since January 2018, Senior Vice President of Alliant Energy from 2014 to 2017, Senior Vice President of IPL from 2014 to 2018, and as Senior Vice President-Generation of Alliant Energy and IPL from 2010 to 2014.

He served as President of WPL from 2010 to 2018. Larsen joined Alliant Energy in 1988 as an engineer and held engineering, energy delivery and generation roles of increasing importance with the Company.

He has been a Director of IPL and WPL since 2019.
