(exechange) — Boston, Massachusetts, October 26, 2023 — Tom Bartlett, chief executive of American Tower, leaves his position. As announced by American Tower Corp. in a news release on Thursday, October 26, 2023, Thomas A. (Tom) Bartlett leaves his post as chief executive officer at the owner of communications real estate, after less than four years in the role, effective February 1, 2024.

Tom Bartlett’s duties as CEO will be taken over by Steven O. (Steve) Vondran, most recently Executive Vice President and President, U.S. Tower Division at American Tower Corp.

“Thorough succession planning process”

The management change is explained as follows. American Tower stated: “The Company’s Board of Directors, having undertaken a deliberate and thorough succession planning process over the last several years, has named Steve Vondran to succeed Mr. Bartlett as President and Chief Executive Officer, at which time Mr. Vondran will also be appointed as a director of the Board.”

Precise information regarding Tom Bartlett’s future plans was not immediately available.

American Tower said: “Tom Bartlett will retire from his positions as President, Chief Executive Officer and director of the Board of Directors, effective February 1, 2024.”

Share price decline since March 2020
