(exechange) — Tampa, Florida, August 29, 2023 — Joc O’Rourke, chief executive of Mosaic, leaves his position. As announced by Mosaic Co. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, James C. (Joc) O’Rourke leaves his post as chief executive officer at the producer of concentrated phosphate and potash crop nutrients, after around eight years in the role, effective December 31, 2023.

Joc O’Rourke’s duties as CEO will be taken over by Bruce M. Bodine, currently Senior Vice President – North America at Mosaic Co.

In the announcement, Mosaic did not explicitly explain the reason for the move.

Precise information regarding Joc O’Rourke’s future plans was not immediately available.

Joc O’Rourke became CEO of the Company in 2015.

O’Rourke relinquished the title of President effective immediately and will resign as CEO and a member of the Mosaic Board of Directors effective December 31, 2023, after which O’Rourke will serve as a Senior Advisor until mid-2024.

O’Rourke was appointed the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer in August 2015.

He previously served as the Company’s Executive Vice President – Operations and Chief Operating Officer from August 2012 to August 2015 and as the Company’s Executive Vice President – Operations from January 2009 to August 2012.

Prior to joining Mosaic, O’Rourke was President, Australia Pacific for Barrick Gold Corporation, the largest gold producer in Australia, from May 2006 to December 2008, where he was responsible for the Australia Pacific Business Unit consisting of ten gold and copper mines in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
