As announced by Mueller Water Products Inc. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Monday, August 21, 2023, J.Scott Hall leaves his post as chief executive officer at the manufacturer of products used in the transmission, distribution and measurement of water, after about six and a half years in the role, effective immediately.

Mueller Water will undertake a search for a successor.

Scott Hall’s duties as CEO will be taken over temporarily by Marietta Edmunds (Martie) Zakas, most recently Chief Financial Officer at Mueller Water Products Inc.

Mueller Water did not give an explicit reason for Scott Hall’s departure from the CEO post. Mark J. O’Brien, Board Chair, stated: “The Board and Scott determined that at this stage in the Company’s transformation, with our capital investment phase nearing completion, the time is right to bring in a new leader to help Mueller achieve its potential as America’s water infrastructure is rebuilt.”

Precise information regarding Scott Hall’s future plans was not immediately available.

Mueller Water said: “Scott Hall has stepped down as President, CEO and member of the Board of Directors (the “Board”).”

Share price decline since August 2021

The announcement follows a decline in Mueller Water Products Inc.’s share price of 9% since August 2021.
