(exechange) — Miami, Florida, July 14, 2023 — Rick Beckwitt, co-chief executive of Lennar, leaves his position. As announced by Lennar Corp. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Friday, July 14, 2023, Richard (Rick) Beckwitt leaves his post as co-chief executive officer at the homebuilder, after about five and a half years in the role, effective September 1, 2023.

Rick Beckwitt’s duties as co-CEO will be taken over by Stuart Miller, currently Executive Chairman at Lennar Corp.

No reason given

In the announcement, Lennar did not explicitly explain the reason for the move.

Precise information regarding Rick Beckwitt’s future plans was not immediately available.

Lennar said: “[A]fter 17 years with Lennar, Rick Beckwitt has decided to retire as a Co-CEO and Co-President and resign as a member of the Board of Directors of the Company.”

Share price increase since July 2018

The announcement follows an increase in Lennar Corp.’s share price of 149% since July 2018.

With this change, Miller will continue as Executive Chairman and will additionally become Co-CEO to lead Lennar in partnership with Jaffe, Co-CEO and President.

Beckwitt has served as the Company’s Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-President since November 2020, and, prior to that, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer from April 2018 to November 2020.

Before that time, Beckwitt served as the Company’s President from April 2011 to April 2018, and the Company’s Executive Vice President from 2006 to 2011.
