(exechange) — Oak Brook, Illinois, November 17, 2022 — Dave Yeager, chief executive of Hub Group, leaves his position. As announced by Hub Group Inc. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Thursday, November 17, 2022, David P. (Dave) Yeager leaves his post as chief executive officer at the transportation management company, after almost 28 years in the role, effective January 1, 2023.

It is the end of an era.

Dave Yeager’s duties as CEO will be taken over by Phillip D. (Phil) Yeager, currently President and Chief Operating Officer at Hub Group Inc.

It is a generational change. Phil Yeager is about 34 years younger than Dave Yeager.

Phil Yeager is the son of Dave Yeager.

Dave Yeager’s move coincides with a management shake-up also involving the positions of Chief Marketing Officer; and Chief Commercial Officer.

“Planned succession”

The management change is explained as follows. Hub Group said: “Hub Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:HUBG) today announced that, as part of a planned succession process, its Board of Directors approved several leadership changes that will become effective January 1, 2023.”

“David P. Yeager will retire as CEO while continuing in the role of Executive Chairman of Hub Group,” Hub Group said.

Share price increase since November 2017

The announcement follows an increase in Hub Group Inc.’s share price of 90% since November 2017.

In the position of CEO since 1995

Dave Yeager became CEO of the Company in 1995.

David P. Yeager has served as the Company’s Chairman of the Board since November 2008 and as Chief Executive Officer of the Company since March 1995.

Yeager was Vice Chairman of the Board from March 1995 through November 2008.

From October 1985 through December 1991, Yeager was President of the Company’s predecessor, Hub Chicago.

From 1983 to October 1985, he served as Vice President, Marketing of Hub Chicago.

Yeager started working for the Company in 1975.

Yeager received a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Dayton.

Yeager formerly served as the Chair of the University of Dayton Board of Trustees.

He has been an employee of the Company for over 40 years and in that time has helped grow the Company from a small family business into the nearly $5 billion enterprise it is today.

Yeager has experience in all aspects of the business, including acting as founder and President of both the Pittsburgh Hub (1975) and the St. Louis Hub (1980).
