(exechange) — Chesapeake, Virginia, June 28, 2022 — Kevin Wampler, finance chief of Dollar Tree, leaves. As announced by Dollar Tree Inc. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, Kevin S. Wampler leaves his post as chief financial officer at the multi-price-point chain of discount variety stores, after almost 14 years in the role, effective upon the appointment of a successor.

Dollar Tree will undertake a search for a successor.

Kevin Wampler’s move coincides with a management shake-up also involving the positions of Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary; Chief Operating Officer; Chief Strategy Officer; and Chief Information Officer.

“To support the Company’s growth and accelerate implementation of its value creation initiatives”

The management change is explained as follows. Dollar Tree said: “Dollar Tree, Inc. (NASDAQ: DLTR), today announced a number of executive leadership changes to support the Company’s growth and accelerate implementation of its value creation initiatives.”

Precise information regarding Kevin Wampler’s future plans was not immediately available.

“Transition”

Dollar Tree said: “Kevin Wampler will transition out of his role as Chief Financial Officer upon the appointment of a successor. Mr. Wampler will remain with the Company as an advisor until April 2023 to ensure a smooth transition.”

Dollar Tree further said: “Kevin S. Wampler will continue in his current role as Chief Financial Officer until a successor begins serving, and will continue with the Company following such transition date until April 30, 2023, during which time he will provide such transition or other duties as requested by the Company.”

“Not due to any disagreement”

“Mr. Wampler’s transition is not due to any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company’s financial reporting, policies or practices,” Dollar Tree said.

Share price increase since June 2017

The announcement follows an increase in Dollar Tree Inc.’s share price of 95% since June 2017.

In the position of CFO since 2008

Kevin Wampler became CFO of the Company in 2008.

Wampler has been the Chief Financial Officer of Dollar Tree since December 2008.

Prior to joining Dollar Tree, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary for The Finish Line, Inc. from October 2003 to November 2008.

Wampler held various other senior positions during his fifteen-year career at The Finish Line, including Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Assistant Secretary from 2001 to 2003.

Wampler, a Certified Public Accountant, was employed by Ernst and Young LLP from 1986 to 1993.
