As announced by Cross Country Healthcare Inc. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, Kevin C. Clark leaves his post as chief executive officer at the staffing, recruitment and advisory firm, after about three years in the role, effective March 31, 2022.

Kevin Clark’s duties as CEO will be taken over by John A. Martins, currently Group President, Delivery at Cross Country Healthcare Inc.

In the announcement, Cross Country did not explicitly explain the reason for the move.

“Kevin C. Clark, Co-Founder and CEO of the Company will transition from his current role as President and CEO effective March 31, 2022 to Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, where he will continue to lead Cross Country Healthcare’s strategic direction,” Cross Country said.

Cross Country said: “[E]ffective March 31, 2022 (the “Effective Date”), Kevin C. Clark, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of the Company, will retire and transition from his current role as President and CEO of the Company to Chairman of the Board.”

The announcement follows an increase in Cross Country Healthcare Inc.’s share price of 192% since January 2019. January 2019 is the month in which Clark’s tenure as CEO began.

From 1996 to 1998, Clark served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Poppe Tyson, Inc., a global digital marketing agency, and from 1986 to 1994 he served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cross Country, Inc., a healthcare staffing company, which he co-founded.

Clark earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University.
