(exechange) — Fort Lauderdale, Florida, October 6, 2021 — David Henshall, chief executive of Citrix, leaves. As announced by Citrix Systems Inc. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, David J. Henshall has left his post as chief executive officer at the workplace software maker, after about four years in the role, effective October 4, 2021.

David Henshall’s duties as CEO will be taken over temporarily by Robert M. (Bob) Calderoni, most recently Chair of the Board of Directors at Citrix Systems Inc., as Interim Chief Executive Officer.

“Bob is a natural choice”

Citrix did not give an explicit reason for David Henshall’s departure from the CEO post. Nanci Caldwell, Lead Independent Director of Citrix, said: “With more than 30 years of executive experience in the technology sector, including seven years as a director of Citrix, Bob is a natural choice to lead the Company at this time.”

Precise information regarding David Henshall’s future plans was not immediately available.

“Stepped down”

Citrix said: “Mr. Calderoni succeeds David J. Henshall, who has stepped down as President and CEO and as a member of the Company’s Board.”

Citrix further said: “On October 4, 2021, the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of the Company appointed Robert M. Calderoni as Interim Chief Executive Officer and President (and “principal executive officer”) of the Company. Mr. Calderoni succeeds David J. Henshall in such roles. Mr. Calderoni will continue in his existing role as Chairman of the Board.”

Share price decline since October 2020

The announcement follows a decline in Citrix Systems Inc.’s share price of 24% since October 2020.

In the position of CEO since 2017

David Henshall became CEO of the Company in 2017.

Henshall has served as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors since July 2017.

Henshall served as the Company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer beginning in September 2011 and as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer beginning in February 2014.

Henshall was appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer and President from October 2013 to February 2014.

From January 2006 to September 2011, Henshall served as the Company’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and from April 2003 to January 2006, he served as the Company’s Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Henshall previously served on the Board of Directors of LogMeIn, Inc. a then publicly-traded remote access and remote software company, from 2017 to 2020.
