(exechange) — Thousand Oaks, California, August 30, 2021 — Al Pichelli, chief executive of Teledyne, leaves. As announced by Teledyne Technologies Inc. in a news release on Monday, August 30, 2021, Aldo (Al) Pichelli leaves his post as chief executive officer at the provider of digital imaging products, after less than three years in the role, effective October 15, 2021.

Al Pichelli’s duties as CEO will be taken over by Robert Mehrabian, most recently Executive Chairman at Teledyne Technologies Inc.

Al Pichelli’s move coincides with a management shake-up also involving the positions of Vice Chairman; and Senior Vice President.

“Additional help from our next generation of leaders”

Teledyne did not give an explicit reason for Al Pichelli’s departure from the CEO post. Mehrabian said: “While we shall miss Al, my personal engagement and oversight will continue to be as strong as ever, but with additional help from our next generation of leaders.”

Precise information regarding Al Pichelli’s future plans was not immediately available.

“Retirement”

Teledyne said: “Robert Mehrabian will resume the role of Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer upon the retirement of current President and Chief Executive Officer, Al Pichelli, on October 15, 2021.”

Share price increase since January 2019

The announcement follows an increase in Teledyne Technologies Inc.’s share price of 123% since January 2019. January 2019 is the month in which Pichelli’s tenure as CEO began.

Al Pichelli became CEO of the Company in 2019.

Pichelli has been the President and Chief Executive Officer since January 1, 2019 and Chief Operating Officer of Teledyne since October 2015.

Prior to his promotion to Chief Operating Officer, Pichelli had been an Executive Vice President of Teledyne having responsibility for the Instrumentation and Aerospace and Defense Electronics segments since July 2013.
