(exechange) — Maple Plain, Minnesota, December 14, 2020 — Vicki Holt, chief executive of Proto Labs, leaves. As announced by Proto Labs Inc. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Monday, December 14, 2020, Victoria M. (Vicki) Holt leaves her post as chief executive officer of the on-demand manufacturer after seven years in the role, effective March 1, 2021.

Vicki Holt’s duties as CEO will be taken over by Robert (Rob) Bodor, currently Vice President and General Manager of the Americas of Proto Labs Inc.

“Carefully planned succession process”

Vicki Holt’s departure from the CEO post is explained as follows. Archie Black, Protolabs’ Chairman of the Board, said: “This transition follows a carefully planned succession process and Rob is the right person to lead the company.”

Precise information regarding Vicki Holt’s future plans was not immediately available.


Proto Labs said: “Vicki Holt is retiring after leading the company for the past seven years. Holt will remain CEO during this transition time and continue to serve on the board through May 2021.”

Share price increase since December 2019

The announcement follows an increase in Proto Labs Inc.’s share price of 55% since December 2019.

Archie Black serves as Proto Labs Inc.’s Chairman.

Black has served a director of the Company since March 2016 and serves as the chair of the Company’s board, as well as a member of the Compensation Committee.

In the position of CEO since 2014

Vicki Holt became CEO of the Company in 2014.

Victoria M. Holt, who is currently serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, as well as a member of the Board, will retire from her position as President and Chief Executive Officer following the transition and is expected to remain with the Company as a consultant for a period of time thereafter.

Holt will also remain as a member of the Board through her current term, which expires at the Company’s 2021 annual meeting.

Holt has served as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer since February 2014.

Prior to joining the Company, Holt served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Spartech Corporation, a leading producer of plastic sheet, compounds and packaging products, from September 2010 until Spartech was purchased by PolyOne Corporation in March 2013.

Holt also is a member of the Board of Directors of Waste Management, Inc., a publicly traded company and Piper Sandler Companies, a publicly traded company.
