(exechange) — Cambridge, Massachusetts, November 29, 2020 — Seth Birnbaum, chief executive of EverQuote, has died. EverQuote announced his death on Sunday, November 29, 2020. Seth Birnbaum has been in the role of Chief Executive Officer at EverQuote, Inc. for around 10 years.

Seth Birnbaum’s duties as CEO will be taken over by Jayme Mendal, most recently President of EverQuote Inc.

“Unexpectedly and peacefully passed away”

EverQuote said: “It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce that Seth Birnbaum, Co-Founder and CEO, unexpectedly and peacefully passed away yesterday at his home.”

In the position of CEO since 2010

Seth Birnbaum became CEO of the Company in 2010.

Seth Birnbaum, one of the Company’s co-founders, has served as the Company’s president, chief executive officer and a member of the Company’s board of directors since September 2010.

Previously, Birnbaum co-founded Digital Guardian, Inc., a data security company, in 2003, where he served as a member of the board of directors and as chief executive officer until October 2010.

In 1996, he co-founded NeoGenesis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he served as vice president of systems engineering until 2003.
