As announced by Castlight Health Inc. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, John C. Doyle has left his post as Chief Executive Officer at the healthcare cost transparency company after less than two and a half years in the role, effective July 26, 2019.

John Doyle’s duties as CEO will be taken over by Maeve O’Meara, most recently Executive Vice President of Product and Customer Experience of Castlight Health, Inc.

John Doyle’s move is part of a management shake-up also involving the position of President.

In the announcement, Castlight Health did not explicitly explain the reason for John Doyle’s move.

Castlight Health said: “John Doyle is stepping down from his role as CEO and Director.”

Castlight Health further said: “On July 26, 2019, John C. Doyle, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of the Company, notified the Board of his intention to resign from all executive and Board positions held at the Company, effective July 26, 2019.”

“Not due to any disagreements”

“Mr. Doyle’s decision to resign was not due to any disagreements with management or the Board or any matters relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices,” Castlight Health said.

Share price decline

The announcement follows a decline in Castlight Health, Inc.’s share price of 25% since April 2017.

In the position of CEO since 2017

John Doyle became CEO of the Company in April 2017.

John C. Doyle has served as Chief Executive Officer and as a director since April 2017.

He previously served as President from July 2016 until April 2017 and as Chief Operating Officer from November 2015 until April 2017.

Doyle also served as Chief Financial Officer, Vice President and Treasurer from November 2012 until July 2016.

Doyle has been a member of the board of directors of Achaogen since November 2012 and a member of its compensation committee since January 2016.

Doyle holds a B.S. in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
