(exechange) — Burlington, Massachusetts, December 3, 2018 — Ken Goldman, finance chief of Everbridge, hands over the reins. As announced by Everbridge Inc. in a news release on Monday, December 3, 2018, Kenneth S. (Ken) Goldman leaves his post as Chief Financial Officer at the provider of SaaS-based critical communications and enterprise safety solutions after less than four years in the role, effective in mid-2019.

Among the 3,000 largest publicly held companies incorporated in the U.S. based on market capitalization, the average tenure of the CFOs who departed over the past 12 months was 6.6 years, according to data compiled by exechange.

Ken Goldman’s duties will be taken over by Patrick Brickley, currently Vice President of Finance & Accounting of Everbridge, Inc.

“To pursue personal interests”

Ken Goldman’s departure from the CFO post is explained as follows. Everbridge Chairman and CEO Jaime Ellertson said: “After a very successful career, he is fulfilling his long-planned personal goal of retiring after turning 60 next year, and will be embarking on a new chapter to pursue personal interests.”

The phrase “to pursue personal interests” opens the door to speculation.

Goldman will remain as consultant at Everbridge

“As part of the planned CFO transition, Goldman will remain in a consulting advisory role with the company into 2020 reporting to Everbridge Chairman and CEO Jaime Ellertson,” Everbridge said.

“Retire”

Everbridge said: “Kenneth Goldman, who has served as Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer since April 2015, will retire in mid-2019.”

Share price increase since October 2016

The change follows an increase in Everbridge, Inc.’s share price of 302 percent since October 2016.

Goldman brings over 30 years of experience building finance and technology organizations to his role as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Everbridge.

A former recipient of Boston Business Journal’s “CFO of the Year” award, Goldman’s financial and operational leadership experience supports Everbridge’s accelerated growth.

Goldman’s career spans extensive expertise in finance, administration, M&A, corporate strategy and operations, including leadership roles with three public companies and successful IPO and secondary capital raise experience.

Prior to Everbridge, Goldman served as Executive Vice President and CFO at Fiksu, a Boston-based provider of mobile application marketing products.

He was also EVP and CFO Black Duck Software, and previous to that, served as SVP & CFO and Member of the Board of Directors for Salary.com.

In this role, Goldman led the SaaS company through a successful IPO in 2007, as well as several strategic acquisitions pre and post-IPO.

Before Salary.com, Goldman held several CFO and executive positions, including Lodestar Corporation, Student Advantage, MediaMap, Shoplink.com and Goldweitz & Company, Inc.

A CPA, Goldman began his financial career at KPMG.

He is a graduate of Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
