(exechange) — Chicago, Illinois, August 5, 2021 — Brett White, chief executive of Cushman & Wakefield, leaves his position. As announced by Cushman & Wakefield Plc in a news release on Thursday, August 5, 2021, Brett White leaves his post as chief executive officer at the real estate services firm after about six and a half years in the role, effective December 31, 2021.

Brett White’s duties as CEO will be taken over by John Forrester, currently Global President at Cushman & Wakefield Plc.

“Now is the right time”

Brett White’s departure from the CEO post is explained as follows. White said: “I began my work here as Executive Chairman, and, given the firm’s strong performance and bright future, now is the right time for me to return to that role.”

White will remain as Executive Chairman at Cushman & Wakefield

“Brett White [is] to remain Executive Chairman, a role he’s held at Cushman & Wakefield since 2015. As Executive Chairman, Brett White will remain an employee of Cushman & Wakefield and will continue to lead strategy, M&A and succession planning, alongside Forrester,” Cushman & Wakefield said.

Share price increase since August 2018

The announcement follows an increase in Cushman & Wakefield Plc’s share price of 6% since August 2018.

In the position of CEO since 2015

Brett White became CEO of the Company in 2015.

White has served as Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cushman & Wakefield since 2015.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, White had a 28-year career with CBRE, serving as Chief Executive Officer from 2005 to 2012 and President from 2001 to 2005.

He was also a member of CBRE’s board of directors from 1998 to 2013. Previously, he served as a trustee of the University of San Francisco and as a member of the board of directors for Edison International, Southern California Edison, Realogy Holdings Corporation and Mossimo, Inc.

White holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
