(exechange) — Hamilton, Bermuda, April 12, 2021 — Iain Ross, chief executive of Golar, leaves. As announced by Golar LNG Ltd. in a news release on Monday, April 12, 2021, Iain Ross leaves his post as chief executive officer at the liquefied natural gas shipping company after about three and a half years in the role.

Golar will undertake a search for a successor.

No reason given

In the announcement, Golar did not explicitly explain the reason for Iain Ross’s move, leaving room for speculation.

Precise information regarding Iain Ross’s future plans was not immediately available.

“Resignation”

Golar said: “The Board of Golar LNG has today received a resignation notice from its CEO Iain Ross.”

Golar further stated: “The contractual termination period is 6 months however the final duration can be prolonged or reduced upon mutual agreement.”

Share price decline since April 2018

The announcement follows a decline in Golar LNG Ltd.’s share price of 61% since April 2018.

Ross has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, is a Fellow of Engineers Australia and certified International Director from INSEAD.
