As announced by Golar LNG Ltd. in a news release on Monday, April 12, 2021, Iain Ross leaves his post as chief executive officer at the liquefied natural gas shipping company after about three and a half years in the role.
Golar will undertake a search for a successor.

In the announcement, Golar did not explicitly explain the reason for Iain Ross’s move, leaving room for speculation.

Golar said: “The Board of Golar LNG has today received a resignation notice from its CEO Iain Ross.”
Golar further stated: “The contractual termination period is 6 months however the final duration can be prolonged or reduced upon mutual agreement.”

The announcement follows a decline in Golar LNG Ltd.’s share price of 61% since April 2018.
