Hologic CFO Bob McMahon leaves for Agilent

(exechange) — Marlborough, Massachusetts, July 31, 2018 — Bob McMahon, finance chief of Hologic, leaves the position. It is an abrupt change. As announced by Hologic, Inc. in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, Robert W. (Bob) McMahon leaves his post as Chief Financial Officer at the medical technology company after about four years in the role, effective immediately.

Among the 3,000 largest publicly held companies incorporated in the U.S. based on market capitalization, the average tenure of the CFOs who departed over the past 12 months was 6.8 years, according to data compiled by exechange.

McMahon leaves the company effective August 2, 2018.

McMahon’s duties will be taken over by Karleen M. Oberton, most recently Chief Accounting Officer of Hologic, Inc.

McMahon will be CFO at Agilent

“Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Bob McMahon is leaving the Company to become the CFO of Agilent,” Hologic said.

Agilent is an analytical laboratory instrument manufacturing company.

“Resignation”

Hologic said: “Robert W. McMahon, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer, tendered his resignation and will be leaving the Company on August 2, 2018, to pursue another opportunity.”

Share price rise since February 2009

The change follows a rise in the share price of Hologic, Inc. since February 2009.

Bob McMahon joined Hologic in May 2014 with more than 20 years of healthcare finance experience.

From 1993 to 2014, McMahon worked at Johnson & Johnson in executive finance roles of increasing responsibility.

Most recently, he served as the Worldwide Vice President, Finance and Business Development, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics.

From 2006 to 2011, McMahon served as Vice President, Finance, Consumer Group, and from 2004 to 2006 he served as Vice President, Finance, Networking & Computing Services.

McMahon is a Certified Management Accountant.

He holds an MBA from the University of Central Florida and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Florida.
