NCR CEO Bill Nuti leaves for health reasons

(exechange) — Atlanta, Georgia, March 22, 2018 — Bill Nuti, chief executive of NCR, leaves. As announced by NCR Corporation in a news release and in a regulatory filing published on Thursday, March 22, 2018, William R. (Bill) Nuti leaves his post as Chief Executive Officer at the computer hardware company after almost 13 years in the position, effective upon the naming of a new CEO.

NCR will undertake a search for a successor.

Nuti’s move is part of a management shake-up also involving the position of Chief Operating Officer.

Health reasons

The management change is explained as follows. NCR said: “Bill Nuti, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, has informed the Company’s Board of Directors that he intends to step down for health reasons upon the naming of a new CEO.”

Share price decline

The change follows a decline in the share price of NCR Corporation since February 2017.

In the position of CEO since 2005

William R. Nuti has been the Chairman of the Board at NCR Corporation since October 1, 2007 and its Chief Executive Officer since August 7, 2005.

William R. Nuti is NCR’s Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, and prior to October 2016, Nuti also served as NCR’s President.

Nuti became Chairman of the Board on October 1, 2007.

Before joining NCR in August 2005 Nuti served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Symbol Technologies, Inc., an information technology company.

Prior to that, he was Chief Operating Officer of Symbol Technologies.

Nuti joined Symbol Technologies in 2002 following a 10 plus year career at Cisco Systems, Inc., where he advanced to the dual role of Senior Vice President of the company’s Worldwide Service Provider Operations and U.S. Theater Operations.

Prior to his Cisco experience, Nuti held sales and management positions at International Business Machines Corporation, Netrix Corporation and Network Equipment Technologies.

Nuti is also a director of Tapestry, Inc., where he is a member of its Human Resources Committee, and of United Continental Holdings, Inc., where he is a member of its Finance, Compensation, and Public Responsibility committees.

Nuti previously served as a director of Sprint Nextel Corporation.

Nuti is also a member of the Georgia Institute of Technology advisory board and a trustee of Long Island University.

Nuti became a director of NCR on August 7, 2005.

Upon stepping down, Nuti will be named Chairman Emeritus and serve as a consultant to NCR.
